I think the time between posts is what’s called ignoring your blog..
Been busy looking at the world throught the content management telescope actually. Having looked at various systems (OpenSourceCMS and CMSMatrix are useful tools in this regard) including, but certainly not limited to:
I decided they were all actually ‘too heavy’ for my needs. My technical choice would be plone and with the most recent release, 2.1.1, they had tidied up some performance, and included features, issues. If fact my research went as far as deploying a plone intranet for a small company.
In the end I decided that, given our development environment is basically PHP (and a swag of other factors), what I actually needed was a ‘content delivery framework’. By this I mean a framework that separates content from the rest of the site style and functionality but without any of the management ‘stuff’ .
So, phpSiteFramework was born. If you need a simple delivery side php presentation framework its worth a look, and of course, because I wrote it Im completely unbiased :)
