Well even though we don’t have an election yet (it hasn’t been formally announced) Google has put its stake in the ground to extract some advertising revenue from the whole thing by launching their 2007 Australian Federal Election site. Earlier this year I reinstated an old web gallery of photographs of a Chihuly exhibition in Canberra in 2000.
Since then some weird type of deja vu has been happening with topics related to Chihuly cropping up…
And, today, I stumbled upon these doodlings from 2000 based on Chihuly source photographs.

An outstretched hand, upward, fingers and thumb flat, still.
Resting on the palm, wings slowly beating, are two butterflies - one fluorescent white, the other a shimmering black.
The hand gently curls closed, safely cocooning the inhabitants.
Upon re-opening there appears, not two butterflies but, a silvery grey, slowly rotating, cube.
