IMAP quota display in Thunderbird
Sep 18th, 2007 by ShaunO
Even though I have my own secure IMAP services, and can change my mail quotas to what I want, it is still useful to restricted quota amounts for sensible storage management. I noticed a while back that Thunderbird was showing the IMAP quota in the status bar on some accounts and not others…
It turns out that this feature was added to version 2 and has some advanced settings associated with it. Advanced settings are accessed via ‘Tools’ menu – ‘Options’ item – ‘General’ tab – ‘Config Editor’ button. Settings of interest are:
- “mail.quota.mainwindow_threshold.show”: in percent, when the quota meter (in grey) starts showing up at all
(default=75, set to 0 if you always want quota displayed) - “mail.quota.mainwindow_threshold.warning”: in percent, when it gets yellow (default=80)
- “mail.quota.mainwindow_threshold.critical”: in percent, when it gets red (default=95)
Thanks to goddess-gate.com for heads-up.
