Open the gate.. welcome to this dimension..
Oh c'mon Aunty.. recycling press releases isn't news..
Origin (Energy) uses grant money it's receiving from ARENA ("Origin Energy has teamed up with ARENA", to the tune of $840,000 of tax-payer funding) and will probably just advocate for more government funding to build stuff they should pay for themselves out of their own profits. I'll have a guess at their future conclusion: get the government to give us a pile of grants and we'll say we can fix the problem (and what we'll actually do is re-distribute the grant money to share-holders as dividends). Oh, and what their research has come up with so far, is to make the consumer do as they're told according the their 'head of emobility' (WTF is emobility?) Mrs Chau Le. I'm not sure what relevant expertise Mrs Le brings to the matter, aside from investor relations, given that she is a corporate finance lawyer 1
ARENA - the government agency with over $200 million of taxpayer funding per year, who claims to be solving technical and policy problems within renewable energy also concludes that it will be all the consumers fault when the grid can't cope with charging loads for EVs during evening peak in 10 years time. They have no intention, it seems, of using the $1.5 billion of their forward budget allocations 2 over the next 10 years or so, to actually do anything..
And Aunty, well then there's Aunty.. The poor old ABC has been gutted down to skeletal form, a 'journalistic biafran', and can seemingly no longer afford to 'actually do journalism'. So she's left with lifting text straight out of press releases, or taking quotes from marketing staff (the only people who'll talk to her these days..) and regurgitating them like they're 'copy'..
buggered if I know 😛
Here's how electric cars will impact the power grid, and what's being done to avert the threat
